Encourage and support internal communication and reduce the risk of your employees seeking intervention through outside sources. Let all stakeholders know that fraud, waste and abuse will not be tolerated in your company by promoting the message, "If you see it, hear it or suspected it, Report it!"
Launching Report it in your organization.
Program Awareness is Important
Like any new initiative, your hotline will be destined to fail if it is not launched properly.
The initial communication should include an announcement by top management about the goals of the program and the reason for implementing it. Employees should be told that the organization is providing every opportunity to report problems and that the information will be sent to top management and/or to the board of directors.
Information about the program should be posted on the company’s intranet site, in break rooms or other gathering places, and should be introduced in face-to-face meetings whenever practical. Every employee in the company should receive a letter or flyer announcing the program, and ideally this packet should include a business card that they can keep in a wallet or purse as a reminder of the phone number. New employees should receive this information as part of their orientation.
As part of your set-up, we will provide you with 11x17 posters for break rooms and common areas, wallet cards for each employee and an introduction/announcement letter and a whistleblower policy that could be altered for your organization’s use.
